LEONARDO MERCURIO

Leonardo Mercurio was born in Bari (Italy) on December 2, 1985. He immediately grew the need, innate, spontaneous and sometimes atypical, to express their creativity and to represent their ideas in images. For this reason, he chooses to attend the Bari State Art Institute first, and then to move to Milan. Inspired by the urban and social contest, in 2011 he achieved with honors the Degree in "Progettazione Artistica per l'Impresa" at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. Attracted by the minimalist Japanese style, he began his professional experience with Setsu & Shinobu Ito - Studio ITO Design and collaborated with companies such as Antonio Lupi, Conte Casa, Materium, Meme Design, Sawaya & Moroni, Riva1920, Désirée, Adrenalina, Lago, Guzzini, Lavazza, Hands on Design, Fiam Italia, Reggiani etc. After four years he became the Chief Designer of the Setsu & Shinobu ITO studio, his two great masters. In 2015 the first personal goal arrives; wins the Cristalplant Design Contest for Antonio Lupi as Young Designer with the project Fe-Man, a freestanding washbasin with sinuous and sculptural forms, currently in the company's catalog, in 2017 wins the Riva1920 4th Design Award, with the Mademoiselle chair as a designer Over 26. Selected for the Longlisted Final phase of the Archiproducts Design Award 2023 with the Tako bar and wardrobe cabinet designed for Conte Casa. Winner of the IF Design Award 2024 with Tako bed designed for Conte casa.
